My Story

Hi there! I’m Tammy - a product designer and illustrator in the Bay Area. I am particularly inspired by spaces where UX is applied to education, environmental sustainability, and public health.

As a student at the University of California, Berkeley, my thesis research explored, through ethnographic studies, how water sanitation and agricultural economic reforms impact women’s empowerment in Ghana. I also spent over two years conducting statistical analyses of endangered species conservation in Mozambique. Understanding how to define problems and sort through data in an end-to-end process have contributed significantly to helping me become a more observant and intentional designer.

This past year, I worked at a high growth start up where my role included introducing a company rebrand and improving product-market fit through designing more thoughtful and accessible digital as well as physical interfaces.

I am currently looking for work! If you’re interested in connecting, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at tagu@berkeley.edu.

I volunteer at least once a month with AIGA SF! The last event was a collaboration between Women in Leadership + Design and Visa on developing your leadership style and building meaningful connections.

I am helping to build a space for Asian American creatives to share and develop their passion projects while concurrently feeling supported by a community in both their personal and professional growth.
I am currently working on (1) being more patient with myself, my growth, and those around me, (2) being more intentional not only with what I say but how I think, and (3) keeping a consistent journal ✍🏻
